Due to my impending divorce, I have 25k in credit card bills and a foreclosure. The house was in both our names, and the credit cards are in my name. Should I file for bankruptcy now or wait until my divorce is complete? How much can my husband be held accountable as he he agreed to pay mortgage in a mediated settlement and did not ( hence the foreclosure), and he had been paying the cards and stopped. I know live in a rental with my child, am borrowing a car, and make 32k as a teacher in the state of Tennessee. What should I do?

Hi. My mom has been suffering with depression for about the last year and a half. Basically, my grandmother passed away more than two years ago, we took on the debt of the house plus my mothers credit card bills. My mom is divorced and very alone. She also lost her job, and after several interviews and "filler jobs" nothing is seeming to work out. Lately, her emotions she kept hidden and covered up from her marriage are starting to pour out, and she now has to deal with them. My father emotionally abused her, cheated on her, and his parents demeaned and belittled her. Her marriage ended about 12 years ago but she is just now facing it all. She never fully dealt with the pain; instead, she used her career and our amazing mother daughter relationship as an outlet. Since her career has left, she has been in her own head a lot and has really lost herself and her inspiration to find a job and herself again. We have pin pointed her problem to not being able to "seek." She knows what she wants, but she is waiting for it. She says that she has lost her ambition and that she just does not care anymore.
The thing is, my mom admits she has depression and that she wants to tackle it. We have had several heart felt talks and goals set; however, we cannot afford treatment. Also, she wants to gain a greater relationship with Christ and go to mass more, but what steps can we take to grow in a relationship, which verses, where do we start? Do you know of any websites we can look at for a self treatment, or if there is free group counseling, or blogs, anything!!!?
Thanks for reading through all of this. I’m a teenager and my mom is in her early 50′s. She is gorgeous and I am not just saying that, she looks about 30. She also has an amazing sense of humor and charisma, so I just hate seeing her waste her life away, dwelling in our home becoming stir crazy.

I just got separated from my husband a few months ago and ever since then he has not helped me pay for any of our credit card bills. We owe a little over ,000 and most cards are unfortunately under my name because I had better credit score than him. One of the creditors started raising up the minimum monthly payment over 200% and the APR went up to 34 and I hadn’t even been late on it yet. I have not been able to pay on this particular account for a couple of months now and I’ve been getting letters where they say they can help me lower the APR and what not but first they want me to pay 00 to see IF I qualify. Would it be better to do debt settlement, consolidation or should I keep trying to work w/ the credit card company myself? And what companies would you recommend me using if any at all? Help!

I am 21 years old, and I have multiple credit card bills each month. I have not used these cards in over a year and most of the debt is from classes. Due to recent economic downturns, my hourly pay has been cut, and my hours slashed. I cannot afford to pay each debtor. How can I "refinance" my card debt into a single bill, hopefully with less interest so I can actually PAY it off.
The total debt is around 00. My credit score is probably small due to my age and debt.
I need to get this under control, especially now as I look for a new job because I scored a whopping 8 hours of work this week, compared to my normal 40.
Thanks

My husband and I have had major credit card bills our whole marriage(17 years) almost 2 years ago we decided to stop it and entered a Consumer Credit counseling service. We are paying off our debts and should be out of the plan in about 2 years. But it leaves us very little "free" money for us and our 3 small children. I know we are doing the right thing but it is so hard. We can’t save anything and for the second summer in a row we will have no vacation. Words of encouragement please

i just registered in a company and they set up a monthly payment with a total a lot less than my current credit card debt. they asked me to start payment right away also stop to pay credit card bills. after several month they would negotiate with credit card companies and i should not worry about those bills any more. sounds too good to be true?
