My husband has 8 negitive things on his credit report in all totaling about a whooping 0 dollars. Most are so old they are going to fall off in the next year. He has 4 accounts in good standing. So my question is if he pays these debts off with a pay to delete agreement, will this improve his credit and his score dramatically or will it not have much effect, right now his score is only 572.

I posed this question before and got great answers and I researched it myself. OK here are the details: first I was sent a letter from a collection agency: Capital Management Services LP. I researched this company and found that they have bad marks against them. They are demanding I give them 01.48. well I can’t pay that b/c my only source of income is SSDI. At the same time I don’t want my credit scores to go down. What can I do offer a settlement and ask them to make sure they mark it as paid in full. This charge appears nowhere on my credit report but they say I paid the cc company from 1992-2002 so I think I owe them. I need info as to if I should pay them or not. BTW I asked a lawyer and he said it’s 10 yrs I did my research and some say 10 and others say 4 b/c I’m open end account. what should I do?
